Helping KIPP Academy Nashville change lives

KIPP Academy Nashville is out to close the achievement gap for low-income students. Located in a low income neighborhood, 90% of KIPP students qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program, a leading indicator of poverty in our nation. Since 2005, students who enroll at KIPP Academy Nashville consistently test at least two grade levels below national averages. With limited parental support and zoning into some of the lowest performing schools in Nashville, these children have less than a 20% chance of attending college and breaking out of the cycle of poverty that exists in their neighborhood.

KIPP Academy Nashville students make between 1.5 to 2 years of academic growth each year, and score higher on annual TCAP exams than students enrolled in metro Nashville’s other public schools. They matriculate to both public and elite private high schools. Over 80% will ultimately enroll in a college or university.

Latest Areopagus Journal

We just completed the design for the newest issue of Areopagus Journal on the topic of Eastern Religions. Here is a short excerpt...

"How often have you heard the expression, 'as far as the East is from the West…,' to note the tremendous gap existing between two objects? But that is no longer an appropriate usage. The East has now come to the West, and the West has slowly been mutating into the East. This issue of Areopagus Journal provides a working knowledge of four of the largest and historical religions of the East and the world—Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism."

The Areopagus Journal is a bi-monthly publication of one of our favorite ministries, the Apologetics Resource Center (ARC). Check out their website to learn more about what ARC does www.arcapologetics.org
